HISTORY
The
Washingtonville Housing Alliance was formed in 1980 to improve
the housing conditions of low and moderate-income residents
in the Mamaroneck area. Since inception, WHA has:
Constructed
or rehabilitated 115 apartments including 75 units of housing
for seniors and 10 new units placed in service May 2007.
Developed
14 homes for first time buyers.
Offered a variety of other services to assist residents
with various housing problems, from tenant issues to low-cost
home repairs for seniors.
Leveraged:
We
have leveraged $14.1 million in construction from the County
for multifamily building rehab and urgent home improvement.
Taxes:
Generated
over $200,000 in new taxes annually for the municipality
through newly constructed and rehabilitated units.
